SLDC accelerates dev’t projects in Mindanao

CAPPING 2016 as a success, Santos Land Development Corporation (SLDC), the pioneering developer in Davao City gears toward implementing and fast-tracking multiple development projects around Mindanao for the next 10 years.

For over 45 years, the trusted real-estate player has provided Dabawenyos excellent and comfortable housing services. SLDC president Antonio Nicolas Domingo told SunStar Davao on Friday, January 27, at the sidelines of the company annual sales performers’ recognition at the Davao Convention Center that the company ended 2016 with high hopes and bright prospects for 2017 as various business undertakings are readied in the pipeline.

“It is a good year, very challenging because we accomplish a lot of things in the previous years. Now, we are set to implement what we had prepared just for our clients. We are excited,” Domingo said adding that the company managed to accomplish targets set in the previous years.

For 2016, SLDC sales and marketing manager Estella Aguilos said, sales performance of the company is in good shape, as reflected by its on-going, on-track and soon-to-be launched project developments around the island-region. At present, Aguilos said, the company has a 2,000-strong sales force offering their "quality" projects to potential buyers.

“It is very important that as a company we recognize the contribution made by all our sales persons. For us, they are the lifeblood of our company. Without our sales force, I doubt if we can be in a position where we are now, it is just right to give them recognition,” Aguilos said.

Bigger, more aggressive Seizing opportunities and taking advantage of Davao Region’s present position as a strong investment hub, SLDC will fast-track all its on-going and upcoming projects in Mindanao. Domingo said they will strengthen its position in Davao City and will enter other potential areas of expansion for a stronger and wider business presence.

“We will be more aggressive for the next coming years. We have to plan some more as Davao will continue as the center of investments. We want to make sure that when this ‘boom’ will happen, we are already ahead,” he said. He said they are now looking at key cities including Tagum, Panabo and Gensan, among others.

In the pipeline, Domingo bared that among its flagship projects this year is the Ivory Residences, an 18-storey condominium to be situated in Bajada, Davao City. The company plans to launch the project by second or third quarter of this year as they are still securing necessary building permits. Also, a hotel will be constructed beside the condominium. In the northern part of the city, SLDC will launch another mixed-used building near the Nova Tierra Village in Lanang.

Domingo said two 24-storey towers will be rising in the property. The project is set to be launched in 2019. Ilumina 2, a subdivision in Communal is also being pushed by the SLDC. It will house 500 units and is eyed to be launched by the end of the year. Another high-end horizontal project is also being undertaken by the firm, the Lauriana grand plane near Puan, Davao City.

Outside Davao City projects, the company is in works with its Plantacion Residences in Makilala, North Cotabato. The 19-hectare property will be divided into two, the nine-hectare subdivision and the 10-hectare commercial component. SLDC go beyond just being a community builder and expanded their developments into agriculture tourism to compete in a wider market.

With corporate philosophy, Domingo said, SLDC for the coming years will continue to take part in Mindanao’s growth through delivering quality living. Read more: http://www.sunstar.com.ph/davao/business/2017/01/31/sldc-accelerates-devt-projects-mindanao-523039
