P6.5-M BUDGET FOR PIER BEAUTIFICATION

A P6.5-MILLION budget was proposed for the Sta. Ana Pier beautification project, an official said.

Davao City Engineer's Office (CEO) Chief Inspection and Enforcement Division Hilario Fernandez bared in Thursday's edition of the I-Speak media forum held at City Hall Conference Room that the project will not be funded by the City alone, as the Landbank of the Philippines also expressed willingness to donate.

He said trucks of CEO are now being used in filling the area with soil and that their office eyes to place a total of 5,000 cubic meters of soil in the area.

"Gitabangan sa CEO sa paghakot ug yuta, pero murag dili makaya sa City Engineer ang kadaghan, so makaya lang sa city engineer kay 1,000 truckloads, kay almost five cubic meter per dump truck (The CEO is now helping in filling soil in the area, but the CEO only have the capacity to deliver 1,000 truckloads with five cubic meter per dump truck)," he said.

He said they are managing the use of dump trucks, so that the schedules and requests of the 182 barangays to use the trucks will not be compromised.
